June 17, 2016:

We are delighted to announce that there has been an excellent response so far from business people and local residents – at this week’s meeting of collectors, the tally showed that we have now passed the €50,000 mark.

“Virtually everybody is supportive of the project and people are making a special effort to give what they can,” said chairperson Michael Sweeney.

The ‘current state of play’ signs place in prominent positions around the town will be updated in the next few days to reflect this figure.

Teams of collectors are visiting houses and businesses in the parish. All support will be deeply appreciated as we endeavour to restore a Town Hall after an absence that stretches to almost 20 years.
